Equipment Hire

The CMG hire fleet team consults with customers to understand operational requirements, recommending appropriate equipment for both run of mine and longwall relocation operations. equipment hires and potential requirements are tracked in the CMG equipment master forecast for discussion with customers where dates are adjusted if mine planning schedules/priorities change.

CMG owns and has access to affiliated mining equipment including shuttlecars, auxiliary fans, all mining attachments/pods, Driftrunner personnel transporters & utilities, Juganaut and Sandvik LHDs, 130T Shearer Transport, Flitmate, 30-60T Winch, Petito Mule, Domino Mynedozer, 6-wheel drive 50T Chock Carriers, Sandvik TT595 57T “Chariots”, Cat SH640 & SH660 heavy lift machines.

Hired equipment is supported by CMG spares containered at site or from Tomago base and 24/7 Field Service rostered to suit customers’ requirements.

RSF Workshop

The experienced personnel in the CMG Tomago workshop exclusively service, repair, overhaul, & maintain compliance of the Cougar hire fleet equipment. Statutory DES Code D inspections, repairs & overhauls are completed at Tomago under the RSF certification held by Cougar Mining Group.

The workshop is well structured with defined equipment repair bays, Service Exchange components, Code D, Machining, & Welding bays. The workshop crew is supported by planning, compliance, and parts coordinators to minimise turnaround times and meet customer hire requirements.

The workshop has close affiliations with specialist suppliers for Fire Suppression, Non-Destructive Testing, DES exhaust gas & particulate testing, Wheel Repairs/Manufacture and Hydraulic component repairs and supply.

Diesel Field Service

CMG field service technicians are mobilised 24/7 or for planned shifts from Newcastle, Wollongong, and Central Queensland to support customers hiring CMG equipment or requiring experienced site diesel maintenance personnel.

RIISS00030 qualified and competent technicians experienced in critical maintenance of underground diesel equipment comply with both NSW & Qld underground mining industry requirements and are inducted for planned or unplanned tasks required by mining customers, including replacing absent personnel, equipment maintenance during longwall relocations, onsite driftrunner DES Code D overhauls, as well as underground and surface maintenance of run of mine diesel fleets.
